ISO Standards Consultancy (ISO 9000 - ISO 14000 - OHSAS 18000) :

DNV is well placed to help organisations in conducting a baseline assessment (gap analysis) against all international HSEQ standards, based on which an action plan is set up to further develop and built a management system that complies to the desired standard(s). It is through well oriented coaching workshops, internal training and awareness sessions that we built adequate systems that work and deliver to the desired performance level. DNV can rely on a robust expertise in all types of industry, but primarily in the oil & gas industry and the (petro)chemical sector where we have achieved our greatest successes. We refer to our International Safety Rating System (isrs7&8) for further guidance in case integrated management systems are at stake.

Loss Prevention Consultancy :

DNV has acquired large international exposure with its ISRS (International Safety Rating System) that, after 30 years of use by more than 4000 companies of which many in the (petro)chemical sector, is still being used. The DNV's Loss Causation Model (developed by our founding father F. Bird) is the backbone of our Loss Prevention Consultancy approach, as displayed hereafter :

  1. Baseline assessment with isrs

  2. Action Plan & Road map for improvement: this incorporates developing the building blocks of a loss prevention programme

  3. Training of staff : a large variety of training modules can be delivered here, with topics such as: the fundamentals of loss causation & loss control; task analysis, planned inspections, accident investigation, group communications, risk awareness sessions, etc.

  4. Implementation of the action plan (coordination, implementation and coaching workshops around specific topics of the prevention programme)

  5. Measure the achieved performance / improvement level with the isrs and consider further improvement

DNV has gained a very broad experience in the oil & gas industry and (petro)chemical industry to be able to help companies in managing their risks in a professional way.

Task Based Risk Analysis :

Task Based Risk Analysis is a legal requirement in most EU countries. Based on an inventory of all tasks in the organisation, a systematic examination of each task is conducted, aiming at identifying and evaluating all loss exposures present while the task is being done. The tasks are ranked based upon their criticality; those tasks classified as "critical tasks" then receive further attention until it is ensured that the associated prevention and control measures are satisfactory, meaning that the residual risk is reduced to an acceptable level.
